Product Description

Prospex Special Edition Automatic Diver. Designed for those who treat life as the ultimate adventure, the Seiko Prospex line meets every challenge with technological excellence and winning design. Inspired by Seikos most iconic diving styles, this distinctive Special Edition evokes the world view of a manta ray with the gradated blue of the dial suggesting the variations in sunlight as it penetrates deep into the ocean, heightened by a stamped pattern suggesting waves. For reliable timing in rough waters, the 23-jewel automatic movement beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, with a power reserve of approximately 41 hours, and can be wound manually or automatically. With magnified date calendar and LumiBrite hands and markers, the dial is framed by a black ceramic one-way rotating elapsed timing bezel. This high-intensity timepiece, in stainless steel, with secure screwdown crown and caseback, and anti-reflective sapphire crystal, follows ISO standards for scuba diving. 200m Water Resistant

Brand History

Seiko, founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori in Tokyo, began as a watch and clock repair shop before launching its first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913. The Seiko brand debuted in 1924, symbolizing precision and craftsmanship. In 1969, Seiko revolutionized the industry with the Seiko Astron, the world’s first quartz wristwatch. The company also pioneered technologies like the Kinetic in the 1980s and Spring Drive in 1999, blending mechanical elegance with quartz accuracy. Today, Seiko is renowned for its innovations and diverse offerings, from affordable watches to high-end models under its Grand Seiko line.
