Product Description

Astron GPS Solar Dual-Time Chronograph. Extending the legacy of the Seiko Astron, the world’s first commercially available quartz watch, today’s Astron is designed for a new generation of leaders to break through to a new future with excellence in both innovation and style. Strong and distinctive, with its perfectly sculpted octagonal titanium bezel, this dynamic timepiece combines solid tailoring with the highest degree of accuracy possible in a wristwatch, equipped with Seiko’s 5X63 GPS solar caliber. The precision watch offers 1/20 second chronograph timing and dual-time functionality with a daylight saving time function, power save function, perpetual day/date calendar correct to the year 2100, and a time transfer function that allows the user to switch the main time and dual time indications with the push of a button, all powered by light energy with no battery change required. The textured black dial showcases a deeply embossed pattern, gold accents, three-dimensional applied indices, three subdials with a contrasting finish, and LumiBrite hands and markers for visibility in low-light conditions. Crafted of light and durable titanium, with a super-hard coating for enhanced scratch resistance, this superb timepiece includes a sapphire crystal with super-clear coating, secure screwdown caseback, and a black silicone strap with an easily changeable lever, and a tri-fold push button release clasp. 10 bar, 100M Water Resistant.

Brand History

Seiko, founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori in Tokyo, began as a watch and clock repair shop before launching its first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913. The Seiko brand debuted in 1924, symbolizing precision and craftsmanship. In 1969, Seiko revolutionized the industry with the Seiko Astron, the world’s first quartz wristwatch. The company also pioneered technologies like the Kinetic in the 1980s and Spring Drive in 1999, blending mechanical elegance with quartz accuracy. Today, Seiko is renowned for its innovations and diverse offerings, from affordable watches to high-end models under its Grand Seiko line.
