Product Description

Inspired by the elegant, elongated shape of the original, the Petite Palidoro reissue is the latest women’s watch in our Dress Classic collection and is the perfect complement for elegant wear. On... the wrist, the timepiece measures 28mm in gold-tone stainless steel, with its rectangular form accented by crystals on either side of the bezel and a lovely geometric crown. A matching five-link bracelet effortlessly secures the watch to the wrist. The black dial is as much an exercise in sophisticated art deco as the case, with stylized Arabic numerals being framed in creative fashion while shortened hour and minute hands indicate the time. Sustainably powered by any light with our proprietary Eco-Drive technology that never needs a battery, this elegant ladies’ watch is the perfect addition to any look. Caliber G620.

Brand History

In the Japan of the 1920s, most of the watches sold were pocket watches imported from overseas. Determined to create a Japan-made rival product, the Shokosha Watch Research Institute, the precursor of CITIZEN, launched its own pocket watch in 1924. As a first product, it was magnificent—but it lacked a name. Tokyo Mayor Count Shinpei Goto was asked to suggest one. The name he came up with was “CITIZEN,” an expression of the hope that as many people as possible—citizens—would use and cherish the watch for a long time.
