Product Description

The tale as old as time brings a ladies’ watch fit for a beauty, the captivating new Beauty and Beast box set from Citizen’s Disney Princess collection. The...set includes a watch with a gold-tone stainless steel case encircled by a sparkling crystal bezel, a 3-hand scalloped detailed mother-of-pearl dial, crystal markers and gold-tone minute markers surrounding the dancing silhouettes of Beauty and the Beast. The gold-tone stainless steel bracelet fastens with a fold-over clasp and push buttons. Powered by Eco-Drive technology, this watch never needs a battery. The case back features a delicate etching of a rose inside a bell jar and the inscription reads, “Open your heart to new adventures.” The set finishes off with a charming pin of a bell jar containing a rose in yellow and rose gold-tone surrounded by crystals. Even stuffy Cogsworth would declare this box set positively enchanting.

Brand History

In the Japan of the 1920s, most of the watches sold were pocket watches imported from overseas. Determined to create a Japan-made rival product, the Shokosha Watch Research Institute, the precursor of CITIZEN, launched its own pocket watch in 1924. As a first product, it was magnificent—but it lacked a name. Tokyo Mayor Count Shinpei Goto was asked to suggest one. The name he came up with was “CITIZEN,” an expression of the hope that as many people as possible—citizens—would use and cherish the watch for a long time.
