Product Description

Prospex Solar Analog-Digital Special Edition Diver's Watch. Designed for those who treat life as the ultimate adventure, Seiko Prospex keeps moving forward, meeting every challenge with technological excellence and winning design. Inspired by the colors of a tropical lagoon, this vibrant Special Edition features marine blue and green on its uni-directional rotating elapsed timing bezel, echoed by the green minute hand and blue silicone strap. The lightweight matte black case is a modern interpretation of the iconic H558-5000, introduced in 1982 as the world's first analog-digital hybrid diver's watch with an alarm and chronograph. Immediately adopted as essential equipment for numerous expeditions to the world's most challenging environments, this extraordinary watch also gained a cult following as an'80s action movie favorite. The new Special Edition offers an energy-efficient solar cell, powered by any light source, with no battery change required, providing a 6-month power reserve when fully charged. The rich black dial, with green accents, includes a digital display for chronograph, alarm, dual time, date, local time, and power reserve readouts, as well as LumiBrite hands and markers. Following ISO standards for scuba diving at depths of up to 200 meters, this rugged and durable timepiece also features a screw-down crown, pushers and caseback. 200m Water Resistant

Brand History

Seiko, founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori in Tokyo, began as a watch and clock repair shop before launching its first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913. The Seiko brand debuted in 1924, symbolizing precision and craftsmanship. In 1969, Seiko revolutionized the industry with the Seiko Astron, the world’s first quartz wristwatch. The company also pioneered technologies like the Kinetic in the 1980s and Spring Drive in 1999, blending mechanical elegance with quartz accuracy. Today, Seiko is renowned for its innovations and diverse offerings, from affordable watches to high-end models under its Grand Seiko line.
