Product Description

Harking back to its roots, this Alpiner Extreme Automatic comes with a radiant glacier hue dial that is just the right balance of blue and light grey, that instantly calls the mountains to mind. Housed in a compact, cushion-shaped 39x40.5mm steel case, the timepiece asserts a subtle and discreetly sporty elegance. Its beating heart is the self-winding AL-525 caliber boasting a 38-hour power reserve. Decorated with the triangular Alpine summit pattern, the dial displays the date at 3 o’clock and sports three hands. Like the hour markers, the hours and minutes hands come with a luminous coating to ensure optimum readability even in the dark, and the crown at 3 o’clock is fitted with a rubber grip, making it very easy to get hold of. Meanwhile the dial, the seconds hand counterweight, the crown and the bezel screws all feature a perfect triangle – a nod to Alpina’s logo symbolizing the snow-capped Alpine summits. Water resistant to 200M.

Brand History

Alpina, founded in 1883 by Gottlieb Hauser in Switzerland, began as a union of watchmakers dedicated to creating precise and durable timepieces. The brand gained recognition for its rugged sports watches, introducing the Alpina 4 in 1938, a pioneer in combining antimagnetic, shock-resistant, waterproof, and stainless steel features. Alpina became a favorite for explorers and mountaineers, embodying reliability in extreme conditions. After its revival in the early 2000s, Alpina continues to innovate with collections like the Alpinist and Startimer, blending Swiss craftsmanship with modern design, while staying true to its adventurous spirit.
